is HPS?
Founded in 1999 (a subsidiary of a family business
trading since 1955) , HPS is now one of the best
known motorcycle accessory retail brands, both UK
and worldwide.
From small beginnings we are proud to have built
our business based around excellent service and
product knowledge, combined with competitive prices
and, in addition to our retail operations we now
also distribute some key high-quality lines in the
UK too.
Who
is behind HPS?
Originally the idea for HPS came from the directors
of GHC, Giles and Anne Harwood, but behind HPS
is a dedicated team operating in areas of pre-sales
support and advice, purchasing, warehouse, despatch
and after-sales support whose aim is to ensure
that all HPS's customers receive the best service
there is.
HPS
was conceived by the founders after they had
been disappointed for many years at the poor
standards of service constantly received when
buying parts for their own bikes.

Their
belief was, and still is that many bikers get
poor advice, poor service and poor after sales
help too often when trying to improve their
bike's performance, handling or looks.
Giles said 'I started building motorcycles (against
my parents' wishes) from old parts I begged
from my mates' elder brothers when I was eleven
years old. Eventually upon leaving school my
dream came true when I got the job as an apprentice
motorcycle mechanic in a local dealership. After
about a year in this job, though, I was persuaded
to further my education which I did by enrolling
on a three year full-time automotive engineering
and management course. Just after graduating
from this course, I thought I was about to rejoin
the motor/bike trade full time when the opportunity
arose to start the computer business which took
me down that path for 18 very enjoyable years.

| The
computer business had grown to a turnover
of approaching £10m, the most part of
it transacted by mail order, with, we are
told, an unrivalled reputation for the highest
quality service (60% of our turnover each
month is from customers who come back to us
repeatedly).
The sophisticated systems we have developed
over many years to ensure our computer customers
throughout the UK and world-wide receive this
high quality of service lend themselves equally
as well to the supply of performance parts
for motorcycles.
We
are always delighted to talk to anyone, whether
a customer or not, about anything to do with
their bike, or bikes in general and HPS (whether
they've received good or bad service) or discuss
any ideas about how we can improve.
