Start by finding out what shock absorber fits your bike. You can identify which type of shock absorber it is and see what kind of adjustment features it has. Here are the keys:

Q1 Progressive damping shock absorber with two pistons.
W Shock absorber delivered without spring.

C1 Adjustable compression damping. Adjuster wheel or slot on the reservoir.
C2 Adjustable high- and low- speed compression damping. Hexagon and slot on the reservoir.
C4 Electronically Controlled (EC) compression damping adjuster.
R1 Adjustable rebound damping.
