| "I recently received my Matt BST Carbon Fibre wheels for my R1 and had them fitted a couple of weeks back and just wanted to give you some feedback. First off I was very pleased with the packaging and all the documentation that came with the wheels as straight away I could see that care and attention had gone in to assembling all the parts etc. ...The matt finish on them is well worth the extra money as it sets them apart and better still, I knew these would go very well with my R1. The next thing I noted was the weight compared to OEM. I just had to weigh them and using my bathroom scales I established that both wheels with the sprocket and carriers fitted weigh in at just 8KGs!!! That's insanely light!
Thankfully my wife was with me when I received the wheels as when I opened them up she shut up for once as even she could tell the wheels were something special just by looking at them and feeling them.
I usually take all marketing guff with a pinch of salt but BST should really rebrand as Ronseal as they do exactly what they say on the tin. I even go so far as to say that Bike journo from PB Kev Smith was 100%. The amount of confidence, lean, acceleration and change of direction you get is just stupidly effortless and I kid you not, an hours ride through my usual haunts at mach 10 hair on fire went supremely quick with an ecstatic laugh at every corner. It was my private race track honest guv.
Was it worth the money and nagging from the wife? My friends are all jealous, my wife now loves the looks of the R1 and no longer nags me, I'm now well and truly in love with my R1 all over again so yeah, I reckon so 100%."

| "I tested the BMW S1000 RR and thought it was useless by comparison to the 09 R1. Granted - yes it handles well and feels light, but the engine is just nothing like the R1 at low revs. quite honestly you could not use the power of the BMW when it eventually kicks in. The test for me was having spent 3 hrs on the BMW, how did the R1 feel when I got back on it? Better than ever ! Rode home like a **** and loved every minute of it. Stick a set of BSTs on a 2010 R1 and you won't regret it."
