Because there’s no such
thing as a perfect brake disc
material (i.e. substances which
have the best corrosion resistance
properties required for road bikes,
may not have the best friction
coefficient or anti-deformation
properties, and vice-versa) Braking

detailed studies into the deformation
properties of metallic materials
when hot - and how best to dissipate

Braking Wave discs are made from
their own special unique grade
of stainless steel with a high
percentage of carbon providing
the ideal friction coefficient
required for perfect compatibility
with modern sintered or carbon-metallic
pad materials, combined with class-leading
wear resistance (HPS customers
have reported STX discs lasting
for 40,000 miles). And, where
your bike's original front rotors
are floating, Braking’s
STX and SK design carriers have
an attractive and corrosion resistant
black oxidised aluminium finish.

2009 YZFR1
Rider Kev Smith tried the
standard disc [and pads]
setup first… the problem
is as the brakes heated
up the suffered from fade
– both at the lever
(it was coming back to the
bar) and with actual stopping
power.
Finally we tried the Braking
Wave Discs with the Brembo
Pads. No fade again
this time, but much more
stopping power. Kev strung
together a whole sequence
of runs which were under
his previous best stopping
time, with stronger deceleration
all the way through the
range. |
Front and rear Braking Wave discs,

your bike’s originals (for
certain race application oversizes
are available too) so you can
simply fit them and ride away.
