Here
you can see how R&G crash
protectors do their job properly,
wearing down gradually as they
slowed this bike to a safe halt,
without flipping it over after
a low-side crash in the wet at
Silverstone’s long, sweeping,
medium-speed right-hand Club corner,
at approximately 60 mph.

Damage
was limited to scuffing of
the right-hand outer engine
casing, detachable clutch
arm protector plate and lower
fairing panel, with light
scratches on the indicator
tip and brake lever. The bike
remained completely rideable.
Without the crash protectors
the whole right-hand side
of the bike - including handlebars,
levers and footrests - would
undoubtedly have been far
more seriously damaged and
the outer crankshaft end/timing
casing and clutch casing would
probably have been penetrated,
resulting in an oil spill
and an unrideable R1.
