The STREET LEGAL line is a special line which satisfies the strict EGE regulations for use in road traffic. It has to meet noise emission and safety standards. Since it is quieter than other Akrapovic exhaust systems, but still has the deep recognisable Akrapovic sound, it is intended for customers with a greater need for limited noise emissions.

 The major advantage of the STREET LEGAL line is the option of two-way use of the exhaust system: everyday use on the street or winding it up on the racetrack by replacing the street legal muffler with the racing version.
 
The STREET LEGAL line supports all the other lines in the Akrapovic range. Thus it is possible to obtain all the lines in the STREET LEGAL option, as long as the development department has determined that the performance of the system for a given model of motorcycle is acceptable.

The STREET LEGAL line together with the selected type of motorcycle has been approved by technical standards boards on the basis of technical documentation and testing, and this is appropriately marked on the muffler. This means that use of this line will not lead to any difficulties with technical inspections or any additional related costs! Therefore the modification of any STREET LEGAL exhaust system intended for street use is not recommended, as any modification would cause the system to fail a spot check or technical inspection.
